From 2008 Volvo started production of automobiles model V50, modification of 2.0D and closed it in 2010. This vehicle has five doors, the body is shaped like a wagon, weight 1.4 tons and length 4.5 meters, which allows a seat 5 men total.

«V50 2.0D» have a front-wheel drive automobile with a 6-speed sequential automatic gearbox. This car can be accelerated for 9.7 s to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 205 km/h, due to a 4-cylinders diesel motor engine with a «common rail fuel system», which generate a max power of 136 hp at 4000 rpm.

Fuel tank capacity of this auto is 52 l of diesel, therefore when mixed fuel consumption is 6 liters per 100 km (5 liters on the highway, 7.8 liters in the city), accordingly allows to go roughly 867 kilometers unrefuelled.

The forward wheels of this car have ventilated disks, 300 mm brakes and fixed to the body chassis by dint of suspension type «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped anti-roll bar. Rearward wheels have disks, 278 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage with help of suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with stabilizer bar. Tires have the next dimensions - 205/55R16.

In conformity with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of Volvo V50 received the higher quantity of stars - 5, indicating that it is a very safe car. Furthermore to passive safety (driver, side, passenger, head/curtain airbags), it is also equipped with dynamic safety systems such as Traction control, ABS, EBD, ESP, Brake assistant.
