In 2004 Volkswagen launched manufacture of automobiles model Phaeton, modification of 3.2 V6 4Motion 5-zitter and closed it in 2009. In this auto can fit 5 people including the driver, it has the form of a sedan with four doors, and length 5.1 meters, weight 2 tons.

Back wheels have ventilated disks, 280 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage using suspension «Multilink, pneumatic» and equipped anti-roll bar. Tires have the following measure - 235/60R16.

Volkswagen Phaeton is not certified for Euro NCAP crash test. Furthermore to dynamic safety systems (ABS, ESP, Brake assistant, Traction control, EBD), it is also has passive safety features (side, head/curtain, driver, passenger airbags).
