PEUGEOT 106 · photos, packages and modifications

Unveiled in the year 1991 sportier and modernized 106 was advertised as the entry level vehicle of Peugeout under 205. Greatly inspired from Citroen AX smaller version took power from different engine ranges from 1L and 1.1L carburetor engine to 1.4 Diesel & 1.4 L gasoline variant. For Peugeout the vehicle was commercially successful filling the vacant space present between large 205 & Clio whose production started a year earlier. In spite of decent handling, security as well as enactment the vehicle received criticism for cheaper inside. 106 maintained its form till 1996 and after this entered 2nd stage of production.

Moving with its basics from 1991, 106 obtained face lifting in agreement with podium share much related Citroen Saxo. These alterations introduced by the car manufacturer were given not to the body shell only, but also to engine as they all got fuel injections. After two years of face lifting 106 got reduction to 1.1 gasoline Liter gasoline, 1.5 Liter diesel and 1.6 GTI which took place of the earlier introduced XSi. This happened because sales declined after the introduction of 206. Nevertheless 106 was a success which was continuously produced for twelve years and production was stopped in the year 2003.
