In 1997 Mitsubishi began manufacture of automobiles type Carisma, modification of 1.8 GDI LS and closed it in 1999. This 4-door sedan has a length of 4.4 meters, weight 1.1 tons and is designed to fit 5 person including the driver.

Mitsubishi Carisma is not tested for Euro NCAP crash test. Furthermore to dynamic safety systems (ABS), it is also has passive safety systems (passenger, side, driver airbags).
