From 1997 Mitsubishi started manufacture of cars model Carisma, modification of 1.8 GDI L and terminated it in 1999. In this auto can sit 5 men total, it has the body type of a sedan with four doors, and length 4.4 meters, weight 1.1 tons.

«Carisma 1.8 GDI L» auto with a 5-speed manual gear shift is fitted to the front-wheels. This car can be accelerated for 10 seconds to 100 km/h, with a ceiling speed of 200 km/h, thanks to a 4-cylinders petrol engine with a «direct injection fuel system», which produce a max output of 125 horsepower at 5500 rpm.

Gas tank capacity of this car is 60 l of petrol, thereby when average fuel rate is 5.3 l per 100 km (5.1 liters on the highway, 8.5 liters in the city), that allows to go approximately 1133 km unrefueled.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks brakes and attached to the undercarriage using suspension type «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Back wheels have drums brakes and attached to the underframe with help of suspension «Multilink, coil springs». Tires have the following measure - 185/65HR14.

Mitsubishi Carisma is not tested for Euro NCAP crash test. This auto does not have active safety, but there is passive safety (driver airbags).
