The Viano was introduced into the market in 1996 at the Geneva Motor Show and marketed as a practical and large MPV. The car was one of the first cars that were fitted with the front-wheel drive after the hegemony of rear-wheel drive system in Mercedes-Benz products. This car was built as a family car, which was not only durable but highly luxurious. The different features included the large sliding lateral doors which enhanced comforts along with a second rear-facing row of seats, cup holders, meal tables as well as other such accessories. There were different engine options which included from 2.0L to 2.8L. For easy access, the shift-stick changed positions to the central console placed right next to the steering wheel, adding to easy driving experience for the driver.
