The Multipurpose vehicle Premacy, which is being manufactured by the Mazda Motor Corporation since the year 1999 possesses a solid built and presently it is in its 3^rd generation. The 1^st generation of this product was manufactured in Japan and was shipped to European and Asian regions. Ford sold a remarked model in some markets of Asia as Ford MAV or Ford lxion.

Outside the premises of Japan the 2nd generation was sold as Mazda 5. Inside Taiwan the Ford Lio Ho, which gathers Mazda 5 from the native markets improved a remarked model in the year 2007 as Ford i-MAX.

The 1st generation models of this vehicle were good enough to accommodate seven individuals thanks to the 2 to 3 rows of seats. In the second generation there was room for 6 individuals because a third row of seats was added. In both these versions the following features were common:

• Near flat floor
• Folding second row
• Flat fold rear seat
