In the year 1992 MX-6's 2^nd generation was introduced as restored car, which was based upon new GE platforms combining things with 626 models. An interesting point to mention is that this vehicle was produced in different forms each of them was intended to target a specific market:

• A-spec were made for North America
• E -spec for Europe, Australia, and Japan
• J-spec was an updated form of E

The prominent differences, which were present in A-spec and E-spec cars, include larger collection choices and customary tools for the E-spec. On the hand United States cars were given three levels of tools and the last edition was equipped with:

• exclusive upholstery
• gold badges
• chrome plating
• fully-red taillights
• 3-disc built-in CD changer
