From 1997 KIA launched production of automobiles type Clarus, modification 2.0 GLX and closed it in 1999. This 4-door sedan has a length of 4.7 meters, weight 1.2 tons and is assigned to fit 5 men including the driver.

«Clarus 2.0 GLX» is a front-wheel drive car with a 5-speed manual transmission. This vehicle can be accelerated for 10.9 seconds to 100 km/h, with a maximum speed of 195 km/h, owing to a 4-cylinders petrol motor engine with a «multipoint injection system», which generate a max power of 133 horsepower at 6000 rpm.

Fuel consumption is 12.8 liters in the city mode of driving, on the highway 8 l, and the normal fuel rate is 9.7 l per 100 kilometers. Gas tank capacity is 60 liters of petrol, what provides to drive nearly 619 kilometers without refueling.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks brakes and attached to the body chassis with help of suspension type «MacPherson, independent, coil springs». Rearward wheels have disks brakes and attached to the body chassis using suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped sway bar. Tires have the following size - 195/65R14.

KIA Clarus is not tested for Euro NCAP crash test. This auto has passive safety (driver, passenger airbags), but there is no active safety.
