The Xk8 model came out in 1996 whether as a convertible or coupe, which was normally codenamed as the X100 at the time of development. It designed with the supercharged 370 hp engine or a 290 hp engine as naturally aspired one. The car was limited to the speed of 250 km/h, which was normally lower than the XJS and it made it to come with as the replacement of XK. It is designed with the 4.0 V8 engine as upgraded to 4.2 liter. On the outside, it came up with some minor touches in the rear light clusters and the front grille.

In 1997, there was a supercharged model introduced in the line-up of Jaguar. It was normally treated as a great tourer and named as the best in the XK model. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2005, the new version of the XK model was introduced. It was designed with all new aluminum monologues in both the convertible and coupe versions. The car was able to offer an impressive drive and it was characterized by its rigidity and light weight.
