JAGUAR S-Type · photos, packages and modifications

At the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show, there was a mid-size luxury car introduced to the public in the name of S-Type. It was designed by the Late Geoff Lawson. When you consider about the platform of this model, it was the Jaguar JED platform that developed in partnership with Ford. This platform was also used in the Lincoln LS model of Ford. The name of this model was taken from an older model and it was not the new one in the Jaguar line-up. The name was from 1963 S-Type. In 2003, a high performance edition came out in the name of the Jaguar S-Type R, which was released before minor facelift in 2004.

This model was treated as the one to represent the facelifted version of the first version, which came out in the model year 2000. When you consider about the facelifted version, the changes were applied to the bonnet, the front and rear bumper, the rear light clusters, the badge and the grille. The engine of this model received a boost technically through the new 2.7 V6 diesel engine. The whole center console of this model was redesigned in order to make room for the optional satellite radio equipment and a new switch gear, in the case of inside. It was also added with a parking-brake paddle switch on the wheel.
