HYUNDAI Coupe · photos, packages and modifications
In 1996, the first production of the Hyundai Tiburon or the Coupe made and it was translated as Shark in Spanish. When you consider about the engine of the first generation model, it came up with the petrol engines including 1.6 or 1.8 along with the optional 2.0 petrol engine for the FX model. It was also known as the RD model and the only available engine by 1998 was 2.0. It also designed with the features of optional ABS, a sunroof and 2 airbags.
When you go through the 1999 version of the Hyundai Coupe or Tiburon model, it was an updated model of the RD platform that would probably be known as the RD2. The facelift version of this model mainly focused on the outside body that too particularly on the front and rear bumpers. There were separate housings available for both high beam and low beam lamps. But, in the case of rear bumper the taillights were bigger compared to them. The dashboard was redesigned with new ideas inside the car.
In 2001, there was a model introduced in the name of GK, which was actually the second generation model of the Hyundai Tiburon or Coupe. The first generation model of this car was removed from the production along with the complete redesigning of new version, which was basically larger from all points of view with engine. This model was later uplifted to an optional V6 that too on the GT model. If you go through the engines of the base version, then they are still rolled on the engines of 2.0 that would probably provide 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission in a better way.
Because of the facelift, there was a complete change made with the Hyundai, in 2004. Three models of Hyundai were available including GS, GT and SE, in which the SE model was treated as trim level for the GT models. The GT models of the Hyundai were equipped along with the powerful 2.7 V6 engine that would probably offer up to 5-speed manual transmission. The ABS version became as the standard one in all models. The better and efficient airflow in the engine compartment had been received because of the minor modification made to the positioning of the air-filter resonator, which would probably be given a boost with the horsepower.
In 2007, there was a facelift made with the second generation Hyundai Coupe, which was normally treated as the last facelift. This facelift came with the return to the early designs available in that particular series. Because of the fenders losing the "gil fins" design, the headlamps of this model were angled as more aggressive one along with the thinner outline. In order to provide the more stylish look, the interior was designed with blue backlighting for the dashboard along with aluminum inserts.
