HONDA NSX · photos, packages and modifications
The Honda NSX is a sports car, which ran production for around 15 years, between 1990 and 2005. The production of the first generation was stopped in the year 1997. This car was considered very modern for that particular time, because it had a rigid, yet a very light frame manufactured from aluminum. Titanium connected the rods of the frame. This car highly became popular as an exotic car, which was extremely reliable, as well. Because of this, it was able to reach the 100,000 mile mark. Initially, the production was limited for the market in Japan only, but when the Targa version in 1995 was produced, the market also stretched to the United States.
There were significant changes made to this car after the production of the first generation halted in 1997. These changes focused on improving the car for performance, which was already built in such a way that it was beneficial for racing. These changes included the increment of the engine displacement from 3.0 to 3.2, along with the increase of the size of the brake rotors, which led to the use of bigger tires. Furthermore, it now featured a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. It included the use of a new type of aluminum alloy to decrease the weight of the car, but also to improve the rigidity present in the chassis.
The latest modification to be done on this car was in 2002. The front end of the car was remodeled to include fixed headlights, which also had xenon HID lamps. There was no fixed top anymore, and only Targa was made available. The suspension of the car was changed, which meant that better tires and wheels, which were wider, could be used for the car.
