The Coupe in its mid generation facelift in 1994 has received a number of upgrades by Honda. ABS has been offered as an optional package with most important are the safety features. Active cruise tonic locks and mirrors, power windows and 14 inch wheels (upgraded from 13 inch) are the other improvements.

In 1996 a new trim level version of the coupe was introduced. The vx hatch model being replaced which itself is a powerful model in the lineup and the coupe was equipped with a VTEC-E engine with 115 hp. The new CVT transmission option being introduced in the car for improvement of performance and fuel consumption, may be theoretically right.

The visual and technical makeover of the Civic leads to the seventh generation. The suspension was changed which is an important change and the double oriented performance wishbone being replaced to a comfort oriented MacPherson setup and it was not popular for coupe buyers looking for a ride with good handling. 115 hp engine being put in to tweaked out.
