There was a rebadged version of the Nissan Mistral released under an OEM agreement between the Japanese carmaker Nissan and the Ford Europe in order to exclusively addressed to the European market, namely as the Ford Maverick and launched in 1993. When you consider about the engine options, it came with only two options including the 2.7 TD producing 101 horsepower and the 2.4i offering horsepower of 124. When there was a revised model of the car brought out by the Australian company, the production of the car was stopped in 1996 and it became as unrestricted one in 1998.

On the European markets the Maverick and the rebadged Nissan Mistral versions were sold out as two chassis versions including the short wheelbase version and the long wheelbase version. The production of the Maverick was started originally in 1993 and the facelift of the model had been done in 1996. The main and efficient changes made with the headlights of the car and now it was available as the round one. In the beginning of 1998, the production of Maverick model was stopped and the Nissan was continued until 2006 along with couple more facelifts and became very popular in the market.
