There was a model launched in the market with completely new bodyshell along with the feature of new suspension system fitting to provide the rear torsion beam for the better handling, namely as the Mark V or the Ford Escort model in 1990. When you consider about the engine used in this model, the line-up was originally derived from the previous version and in the later year the new units arrived with the two units of 1.8 engine along with the Zetec 16-valve. This model was also designed with the efficient features of central locking, power steering, ABS brakes and the power windows.

The 1992 version of the Ford Escort was the face-lifted version of the fifth generation Ford models. This car came up with the new bonnet, new grille and especially the hatch along with the new rear end. The new 1.6 liter Zetec motor was added in the line-up of engines as the new addition to this model. For all the models of this car, the fuel injection was treated as the standard and efficient system. This model was also added with the new option as four-wheel drive and the all disc brakes along with the Xr3i and RS2000 models.

Even though the base platform of the 1995 Escort version was derived from the previous generation, this model was featured with the new headlamps, new bumpers, new bonnet design and the new wings. This car was also updated with the efficient mechanical part along with the improved suspension such as the one available on the more sport Si models. There was special attention received by the interior because of the center console and the dashboard as the restyled and efficient one.
