In 1994, the Punto model was released as a hatch and in order to complete the series of city car it was also offered with an alternative Cabriolet. It was designed in order to replace the hatch, which was designed by Giugiaro. The design of the Punto Cabrio was made by Bertone. Even though the hatch aw built at Bertone, it was not up to the level of the expectation of Fiat plant. This car was featured with the equipment including the retracting roof, which was very cheap and powerful one. Because of this, the Punto was treated as one of the cheapest convertibles at that time among the world.
