There was a model with the name of Supermirafiori that was treated as the second series, which actually derived from getting through the minor facelift for the first generation models. Most of these models were designed with the new double overhead cam Twin Cam engine. The car was restyled with new bumpers, rectangular headlights and bigger rear lights on the outside. Later in the line-up, diesel engines were also added. In 1938, the racing version of the car capable of producing 113 horsepower also released in the market.

In order to replace the Fiat 124 model, the Fiat 131 was introduced that was also known as Mirafiori. There were two versions of this car available such as 4-door saloon as well as a 5-door estate. The name of the model Mirafiori was derived from the Turin suburb from where the car produced in. In the US market, this car was sold under the name of Fiat Brava. In 1981 the revised version of the Fiat 131 was released and the production of this model was stopped in 1984 by Fiat.
