DAEWOO Lanos · photos, packages and modifications

From 1997 to 2002, the Korean automaker Daewoo Motor manufactured a subcompact car namely the Daewoo Lanos. This model was manufactured with the license agreements those were available from 1997 to 2008 by Fabryka Somochodow Osobowych in Poland. It was marketed in the name of FSO Lanos. The model was marketed in the name of AvotoZAZ in Ukraine with the new modified version known as Daewoo Sens and also the Chevrolet Lanos. All the units of this model with different name were sold by the Vietnamese company VIDAMCO from 2000 to 2006 and Daewoo Motors that resides in Egypt since 1998. Since November 2008, the manufacturing of the Chevrolet Lanos model has been parallel done by General Motors Egypt.

It was marketed in the name of Doninvest Assol for a brief period, which was assembled in Russia by TagAZ. The Lanos was featured with three different body styles such as 4-door sedan and 3-door and 4-door hatchbacks. It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in order to replace the Daewoo Nexia model that was presented in the Daewoo lineup. This model was replaced by the Daewoo Kalos in the later period.

The cars of this model were equipped with the 1 D-TEC 14 engines that were ranging from 1.5 liter capable of providing 1498 cc 86HP with SOHC to 1.6 liter capable of providing 1598 cc 106HP with DOHC, which was normally from the GM family. When you consider about the UK and many countries of Europe like France, Australia and Italy, you would probably get through the E-TEC models capable of offering 1.4 and 1.6 with 1349 cc 75HP and 1598 cc 106HP respectively. The suspension of this model was built upon the Daewoo Nexia model, which was used in Vauxhall/Opel Astra Mk2 GTE.
