The Personal Transportation (PT) Cruiser model was initially designed with the intention to get into the small MPV market as a Plymouth model. When you consider about the end of the North American Brand in 2001, Chrysler decided to make over the Chrysler PT cruiser with the new model's name plate in an efficient way. This model was awarded as the North American Car of the Year in 2001 because of the exterior of a car that was designed based on the previous version -of Plymouth Prowler hot-rod, which was redesigned with the concepts of Pronto and Pronto Cruiser cars in the later years. This car was available as the 5-door station Wagon in the previous years and later it was designed with the 2-door and 4-door version in 2004. The PT cruiser model was again redesigned with the concepts of the front fascia, revised interior and tail lights in the same year and the production of this model was closed in late 2007.

The Chrysler PT cruiser was redesigned in 2006 with the attractive design theme that was new one, which was introduced by the Ralph Giles with the 300C. The double tear-shaped headlights were added to front fascia redesign to give efficient look.
