In 2003, the full production of Crossfire launched based on the concept of a car designed by Chrysler in 2001, which was originally designed by Eric Stoddard. More than one third of the components of this model was designed out of Mercedes Benz parts and was available to the larger public as a roadster or coupe. This model was designed to provide 215 horsepower with a SOHC V6 engine and the chassis of the car was based on the pre-2003 SLK platform along with a 3.2L 18-valve. The very few units of this model were sold in the US and mainly distributed to the European markets as large units. In late 2007, Chrysler decided to cease the production of Crossfire because of the poor sales.

The number cylinders used in the model, the street and Racing Technology division of Chrysler made out the name of a SRT6 version of the Crossfire Coupe model as the best. The high performance version of Crossfire was designed based on the Mercedes SLK, like the regular Crossfire model. More specifically it was designed as the old 32 AMG. Compare to the original form of engine, this model delivered only 330 horsepower instead of 354 horsepower, which was basically slightly modified from the handmade AMG supercharged six-cylinder.

In collaboration with Karmann, which is one of the world's leading full-service suppliers to the motor industry Chrysler Crossfire was designed as a two-seat sports coupe and that was built in Germany. The car was again coming into the market designed with 3.2L V6 petrol engine that can provide up to 215 horsepower at 5700 rpm and it was also capable to offer maximum torque of 229 lb-ft at 3000 rpm in 2007. The engine was paired with an automatic five or manual six-speed automatic speed transmission, in order to offer the reliable performance.
