The popular Chevy HHR, launched in 2005 by General Motors at the Los Angeles Auto Show was supposed to be launched as a 2006 model. This particular model is a compact wagon car, which is retro styled. The HHR means the high heritage roof.

The design and the mood of the vehicle are an inspiration of the previous designer, known as Chrysler Brian Nesbitt. This designer was recruited by General Motors as a project expert. For a long time, Chevrolet Fleet was considered the main designer of the entire fleet of cars under the name of Chevrolet. Chevy HHR has a huge capacity for both humans and for cargo. This includes flat flooring, along with a special edition that has a folding flat. A panel van is also made available through the LT level trim.

This particular model is assembled at the Ramos Ariszpe in Mexico. However, it is sold all around North America. In fact, it is even imported to Japan, where in the first year of the launch, the sales of this car went over the roof with around 93000 within the month of June, 2006.

The advanced version of the Chevy HHR created so much hype that during the testing, a spy camera was used to take pictures of the vehicle. The vehicle that had a moniker of the SS was considered to be released in 2008. This model would include an ecological turbocharged engine, quite alike to that of the Pontiac Solstice.

The SS turbocharged engine model that was supposed to be a model for 2008 was then released in 2007. This model had a 2.0 L ecological LNF engine, along with a race that has improved suspension. Furthermore, the manual transmissions of 5 speeds, coming with a short throw shifter is definitely something to be envied. There are disc brakes against locking, which have four wheels.
