Premiering in 2006 at the Geneva Auto Show held in Switzerland, Chevy Epica is a sedan. It is also known as Holden Epica in Australia, and also has another name that of Daewoo Tosca. The car is manufactured under GM Daewoo but these two cars, Daewoo Tosca and Chevy Epica are considered the same car is because the Daewoo company had been purchased by General Motors. Hence, there are different labels for the same car.

The car is considered a mid-sized car, and it was initially manufactured in the Bupyeong plant located in South Korea. It was produced in order to replace the Daewoo Magnus. Its prominent feature includes the straight six engines that are transversely mounted. They are known as Power Trains. This technology has only been used by one other manufacturer: Volvo. There are only two versions of this engine available until 2007, known as 2.0 L and 2.5 L. This year, the company has added another 4-common rail diesel engine to the options. This particular engine has 150 hp and was previously integrated into Chevy Captiva. Now it is being integrated into Chevy Epica/Daewoo Tosca. This innovation marks the first time in history that Chevy cars have used a diesel engine.
