CHEVROLET Blazer · photos, packages and modifications
General Motors launched Chevrolet Blazer in 1983.While in the market, the Blazer gained a lot of popularity in the United States. The coupe was available in two different designs- either with two doors or with four doors. The two doors SUVs had a wheelbase of 100.5 inches while the four door SUVs had a wheelbase of 107 inches. The transmission system of the SUVs was designed to work up to 5 speed manually and 4 speed automatic. During the time span of 1983 to 2005, the Blazer was the first SUV in the list of the S- Series models. The S-Series also consisted of other models such GMC S-15 Jimmy.
In 1995, the Chevy Blazer was bestowed with the title "Truck of the year" by the Motor Trend Magazine. Although the SUV held great significance for many consumers, it's production ceased in 2005. It got replaced by Chevrolet TrailBlazer and Chevrolet TrailBlazer Ext which were released to compete with the Ford Explorer.
The newer models were better designed. The first replacement model, TrailBlazer, was similar to Chevrolet Blazer but had an upgraded LS and LT trim. Instead of a single headlight system, TrailBlazer's head lights were properly arranged within its framework. Its engine was a 2.2 L L4313 SFI system with the horsepower being 120 hp.
Interestingly, even today, the Blazers have a fair resale value in the markets of the United States due to their comfortable interior and easy to use controls.
