BMW launched production from 2006 of automobiles model 5-series, modification of 540i High Executive and closed it in 2007. The weight of the car is 1.6 tn and a length of 4.8 m, It is shaped as sedan with four doors, and may be fit in 5 men including the driver.

«5-series 540i High Executive» have a rear-wheel drive automobile with a 6-speed sequential automatic gear shift. This auto can be accelerated for 6.3 seconds to 100 km/h, with a ceiling speed of 250 km/h, thanks to a 8-cylinders petrol motor engine with a «multipoint injection fuel system», which generate a max output of 306 hp at 6300 rpm.

Gas tank volume of this automobile is 70 liters of petrol, so when normal fuel consumption is 10.4 l per 100 km (7.5 liters on the suburban, 15.5 l in the urban), accordingly allows to go about 674 km unrefuelled.

The front wheels of this car have ventilated disks, 324 mm brakes and attached to the underframe using suspension type «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped anti-roll bar. Rearward wheels have ventilated disks, 320 mm brakes and attached to the chassis through suspension «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the next size - 225/55R16.

In accordance with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of BMW 5-series gained the great number of stars - four, which means that it is a well safe vehicle. Furthermore to active safety systems (Traction control, ESP, ABS, EBD, Brake assistant), it is also equipped with passive safety (side, head/curtain, driver, passenger airbags).
