BMW 1-series Coupe · photos, packages and modifications

The 1 series Coupe by BMW was introduced in 2007 in the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung. Keeping the 1 series hatchback as a base, this 2+2 coupe model features shorter chassis compared to its nearest rival the 3 series coupe and retains the BMW's rear and front 50:50 equal weight distribution. Coming as standard were also the BMW newest efficiency dynamics technology that were designed for the purpose of providing improved fuel consumption levels. BMW's efficiency dynamics technology included brake/control energy regeneration, auto start/stop, active aerodynamics, electric power steering, etc. 3^rd versions of the 1 series were available to choose from including the 120d which was derived from the hatchback 3/5 model, 135i and 123d along with a manual 6 speed transmission as standard. The range's topper the 135i also offered the option of an automatic paddleshift gearbox and was perfectly designed to compete the Alfa Romeo Brera, Nissan 350Z or the Audi TT in the coupe sector.

The 1 series coupe and cabriolet were released with changed body styles in 2010 while the 3/5 door hatchback was left unaltered. The main changes were the changed tail and headlights and the rear and front bumpers were given a change too. The interior went through little to no change however the hood saw a replacement of the N55 being replaced by the N54 which however offered the same levels of output.
