AUDI V8 · photos, packages and modifications

The V8 models by Audi AG were introduced in 1988 centering the luxury segment of saloon cars. Using the C3 platform of Audi the latest V8 Sedan was made available with a totally different grille and different bumpers compared to the 200 or 100 predecessor along with sporting a larger wheelbase. The Audi V8 is also made available with the option of an automatic 4 speed electronically controlled gearbox and standard four wheel drive.

The Audi V8 inspite of its even design lines and technological updates however did not meet much success in the targeted markets. The reason could be associated to Audi's deprived tradition on luxury cars and V8 was also not in nay way considered worthy too. In between 1990 and 1992 Audi launched a new V8 unit of 4.2 litre that delivered 280 PS to fit the design of a longer wheelbase. 1994 saw the discontinuation of the model and a brand new model of the Audi A8 was launched.
