The Audi S4 is the top of the A4 range cars and is a good deal in terms providing the same service but at a much cheaper price than the RS4. Though Audi A4 itself never held the groundbreaking innovative badge and the latest model walks perfectly in its footsteps too holding the same well balanced, handsome and fairly restrained lines in its design. The S4 which is the line’s high performance variation still lacks the under the bonnet potential though is equipped with the V6T and S4 badges with 18 inch alloys, mirrors of silver wings and twin tell tale exhausts below the back bumper.

The older engine unit of the A4 with its 4.2 litre V8 engine provided excellent acceleration and power however on the part of the driver the ride felt rather disengaging,however the new model is surely an improvement in the aspect. Though the power of the new unit has been downsized from 339 bhp to 328 bhp but the V6 supercharged unit with its almost near throttle feels makes it an equally fast experience as in its latter models. Audi’s build power in undoubted and has no match higher to it and even after packing of the S4 with loads of technological hardware, the problems are rare. The model’s regular, the A4 stood at the 60th position in the 2012 Driver Power Survey but the result was based on several factors other than reliability. Drivers enjoy Audi’s electronic stability control paired with the Quattro system especially in tricky conditions. However in more severe cases it should be remembered that the S4 contains a five star award in the Euro NCAP crash test which is known for its rigorous nature.

S4 centers practicality with performance and serves as an excellent family car. With a generous amount of boot reaching 480 litre the S4 also offers ample legroom along with enough head space. For additional flexibility the rear seats allow a folding option but buyers that require extreme practicality would prefer the Avant Estate version of the car.
