From 2001 Audi launched manufacture of cars type A8, modification 2.5 TDI and finished it in 2002. This 4-door sedan has a length of 5 meters, weight 1.7 tons and is assigned to sit 5 person including the driver.

«A8 2.5 TDI» vehicle with a 5-speed sequential automatic transmission is fitted to the front wheels. 6-cylinders diesel engine with «direct injection system» can produce output 180 hp at 4000 rmp, which allows you to speed up the auto for 9.3 seconds to 100 km/h and obtain ceiling speed of 225 km/h.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks brakes and attached to the chassis with help of suspension «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped with anti-roll bar. Rear wheels have disks brakes and attached to the chassis using suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the next dimensions - 225/60WR16.

Audi A8 is not tested for Euro NCAP crash test. Furthermore to passive safety (passenger, head/curtain, driver, side airbags), it is also has active safety systems such as ESP, ABS, EBD, Traction control.
