The Audi's A6 Allroad goes together with Volvo XC70 which is known to be best when tackling light off road adventure is required without the need to sacrifice a car driving experience. The model is largely based on the A6 Avant, the recent allroad is much lighter than its forerunner but the hardware of the Quattro four wheel drive and the absolute car size its weight is still reaching the 2 tons mark with a couple of passengers in the car. When turning a corner, more weight is felt and the extra bodyroll is also present owing to the taller suspension. The main highlight is however the amazingly cushioned ride provided from the air suspension which automatically rises when in all road modes. Only one supercharged petrol 3.0 litre V6 is offered but the preference should be trio of V6 3.0 diesel engines.

The four mode air suspension delivers a wonderful and comfortable ride whereas the Drive select system of Audi enjoys an extra even on the Allroad mode raising the height of the ride when offroading. While on the road the Allroad's extra bulk is felt in the corners and the body roll is more distinct but all in all a satisfying drive offering extra grip is experienced. The petrol option is limited to the 306 bhp V6 supercharged however the diesel 3.0 litre V6 is offered in three tuning states including 202 bhp, 242 bhp and 309 bhp. The 309 bhp is available with twin turbo chargers. Among the choice of diesel engines the 242 bhp is said to be the best seller while providing a better performance going from 0-62 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The four wheel Quattro drive system is not centered towards muddy paths and rutted lanes, it offers a more stable and protected road handling even in bad weathers. Its features include a hi-end safety technology raft including a radar based cruise control to maintain the proper distance between you and the car in front. The lane Keep Assist helps in keeping you on the right side of the track.

The A6 Allroad is longer and wiser comparing to its previous model thus provide lots of extra space. The original 565 litre boot expands to 1860 litres with the 60/40 split back seats folded. This is much more than the BMW X5. The A6 Allroad is taller by 15 mm compared to A6 Avant providing more head space both in the front and at the back.
