The face-lifted stylish and equally practical Audi A4 Avant is in every way equal to any of its competitors may it be the BMW 3 Series or the Mercedes C-Class. The stronger engine lineup and the sharper chassis provided not only better looks but also a better driving experience. The powerful and efficient range of engines includes Torquey TDI 2.0 litre that returns 60 mpg and the dominant and smooth V6 3.0 litre. The A4 ranked as the 36th number in the survey of the latest Driver power reliability, an impressive position with excellent residual values.

The recent model of A4 shares the same A5 coupe front style equipped with neat LED lamps however they are S line standards only. The SE suffices with the halogen basic bulbs. The A4 is a very smart motor, decent looking though it is almost a mirror reflection of its predecessor. The model comes with a standard alloy seven spoke wheels and another 5 variations available. The model offers three trims, the S Line, the S and the SE. the S line adds athletic details to the cabin and the car's exterior such as the side sills and thicker bumpers, lowered suspension and bigger alloy wheels. From the driver's seat the model seems rather dated and even though high quality materials and some slight twists on the steering wheels trim and center console the experience is not as modern and contemporary as the BMW 3 Series Touring.

The A4 Avant by Audi offers accurate and sharp steering experience even though the S line enjoys a rigid set up which in a way harms the ride. Another worthwhile option is the DSG gearbox twin clutch. The Audi Drive Select (ADS) system also is impressive as it allows the power steering to alter according to the sharpening and dampening of the throttle response. The choice of a 1.8 TFSI and the 2.0 litre petrol option is available. The smaller version of the A4 offers turbocharged engine and a surprising speed turn and the thirstier 2.0 litre in rapid and sounds good too. Many buyers however prefer from among the exceptional diesel options. The 2.0 litre TDI torque is even and forceful, whereas the 3.0 litre V6 options are powerful and are serious competitors for larger petrol run motors. For those who are after the petrol engine, the TFSI 1.8 litre and the TFSI 2.0 litre are exceptional engines but the 168 bhp entry level unit may feel a bit slothful. More high tech kit includes reversing camera, lane assist, system of blind spot warning and electric hand-brake.
