Chevrolet Cruze TD Fires Up its New Diesel Motor

We have been excitedly waiting for the diesel-powered Cruze ever since the plans to produce it were announced by General Motors in 2011.

Chevrolet pulled back the cover on the compact sedan in the Chicago Auto Show in 2013 and it is also totally set in the near future to go for sale at a starting price which is $25,695 however that does not include the $810 charges which are for the destination.

The official name of the car is Cruze TD and the most important parts of the car are the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine. That provides torque of 258 pound-feet and a 148 horsepower while it also has transmission which is six-speed automatic and the engine will have a great over boost function that will be able the car a torque of up to 280 lb-ft. All though officially the full specs have not been announced, GM has told that the fuel economy on highways will be 42miles per a gallon. It is exactly same as the Volkswagen Jetta TDI however unlike the Jetta which can only accept B5, the Chevrolet Cruze TD can also run on the B20 biodiesel.

To the 2014 Cruze TD, only some model specific changes have been made which include unique alloy wheels of 17-inch and an aero kit. Also, the car has an interior of full leather as well complementary maintenance for two years and also a warranty of 100,000-mile powertrain.
