GM Says Young People Like Chevy Spark Because it Efficient and Cheap
The General Motors Company is flaunting and advertising some of its figures, proving that the confidence the company invested into the affordable yet high mileage mini-car segment seems to be beneficial and fruitful as they brought in female young buyers who have by far not owned a Chevrolet ever before.
The 2013 Chevrolet Spark, which was released in the market in the summer of 2012, has now sold more than 12,000 cars. The basic in-house customer data of General Motor's confirms that 29 percent of the purchasing group is the people under the age of 35 years, out of which 51 percent are female and almost 54 percent are conquest sales, meaning they were not familiar with the brand name.
Making the Environmental Protection Agency content with an approximation of 38 miles per gallon in the highway fuel economy, The General Motors are laying great stress on various other benefits which the five-door hatchback, four-passenger, Spark has to present. There's the lowest MSRP in the mini-car segment and additional passenger and freight space than its opponents like the Fiat 500 and Scion iQ. The Spark has also noted to be the solitary vehicle to provide My Link radio touch screen infotainment system.
The exciting reality is that the Spark will be General Motor's second plug-in merchandise. Their next model of the Chevy Spark EV which will be launched in 2014 will be cost effective and priced below $25,000 with an enticement in taxes. After it is released, it will be available for purchase in Oregon, South Korea, California, Canada and other universal markets. We shall see if the youth of today prefers the EV like they the gas version of the Chevy.
