From 1993 Jaguar started manufacture of automobiles type XJS, modification of 4.0 and closed it in 1996. This car has two doors, the body is in the form a coupe, weight 1.7 tons and length 4.8 meters, which allows a seat 5 people total.

«XJS 4.0» have a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a 5-speed manual transmission. This car can speed up for 7.6 s to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 237 km/h, thanks to a 6-cylinders petrol engine with a «multipoint injection fuel system», which produce a maximum power of 241 hp at 4700 rpm.

Normal fuel consumption is 11.6 liters per 100 kilometers. Fuel tank capacity is 89 l of petrol, what allow you to drive about 768 km without refueling.

The front wheels of this car have ventilated disks brakes and fixed to the body chassis with help of suspension type «Double wishbone, independent, coil springs» and equipped with anti-roll bar. Rear wheels have disks brakes and attached to the undercarriage using suspension type «Independent, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the following dimensions - 225/55ZR16.

Jaguar XJS is not certified for Euro NCAP crash test. Furthermore to passive safety features (driver, passenger airbags), it is also equipped with active safety systems such as ABS, Traction control.
