The Ford Ka model was designed as a little neat car that would probably overcome the underpinnings of the Fiat 500 model. This model was also available with the decent scope for the option of personalization along with the Grand Prix II, graphics over the standard range of studio, Titanium models, Metal editions featuring with the different paint colors and the Zetec models. The drawback of the model was the price. The entry-level model cars of this model were featured with the MP3 connectivity and not the features more than that, but the Edge cars had come with the options of remote central locking, manual air-conditioning and the electronic front windows. The Zetec car models and others were designed with the alloy wheels, heated wing mirrors and the front fog lights along with the 50:50 split rear seats in order to add the practicality. The cabin was designed as the practical and good looking one with the stylish and simple design on the inside. But, the main shame thing about the Fiat 500 model was the straight lifted options of switchgear and the radio controls. Compared to the Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 107, the Ford Ka was available with the better interior, but it was merely lower one compared to the rivals including the SEAR Mii, VW up and the Skoda Citigo.
When you consider about the engines available in the line-up, it was available with the 1.2 petrol and the 1.3 diesel with the 74 bhp option. It was available with the top speed of 99 mph along with the 0-62 mph times with the 13.4 and 13.6 seconds respectively and it could be used anyone of the options for the quick and efficient drive. Both of these options would probably provide with the plenty of performance in regard to the driving around town or city and they could also offer the option of holding the things efficiently on the motorway. The diesel engine was treated as one with more shove, but it was also efficient to select with the petrol for more fun like the rev. Since the Ford was not able to offer the automatic gearbox option for the Ka model, it would be better to go with the only available option such as the five-speed manual box. Compared to the Fiat 500 model, the Ka was treated as more nimble one because of the steering and the suspension of tweaks. But, there was also a problem in the form of damp squib when it was compared to the old Ka model and it was not treated as the patched one with the bigger brother the Fiesta model. It was also more fun to drive along with the Toyota Aygo model.
When you consider about the safety of the second generation Ford Ka, it was more beneficial and efficient than the predecessors and it scored with the four-star in the Euro NCAP crash test rating. The quality of materials used in this model were better one, there was still only two airbags fitted as the standard one. It was the same thing done even on the flagship Titanium models along with the extra airbags and stability control were the available options. In the 2012 Driver Power Survey, the Ford achieved with the 25th out of 30 among the overall as the disappointing one, but the Ka shared most of the components almost 80 percent including the chassis, engines, suspensions systems and the gearboxes with the Fiat 500 that proved the model as the very reliable one so far. This model also produced at the same factory where the little Fiat was made in order to keep the problems to a minimum by helping in a better way.
